Amazing Flowers with Information
Birds love Ylang-Ylang & so do I. Depending upon whom you ask, the name means Flower Of Flowers, Rare or Wilderness. In trad herb lore, it is a flower of Venus & the essential oil is officially recognised for langour & euphoria inducing qualities, along with the ability to help cure various ailments from motion sickness to high blood pressure. Margaret Mead noted that the South Pacific island dwellers used it liberally as an aphrodisiac, sprinkling it on beds & what-not.
Personally, i love the reek of it so much that i bung it everywhere; into big bottles of sweet almond oil to make body oil, into the sheets wash, floor wash, in an atomiser bottle to spray around as room freshener…Would cook with it if i could. The Wiki for it has this fabulous line re the scent; “The fragrance of ylang-ylang is rich and deep with notes of rubber and custard, and bright with hints of jasmine and neroli.”
And, a la the G.F.C. situation AND increasing concerns re toxic ingredients in perfumes, why not create your own concoctions with actual ingredients proven to enhance mood et al? Anyway, if you don’t have any in the house, try to snort some essential oil of Ylang-Ylang before the Full Moon & see if you do not notice the effect.

The artificial stack of rock

Friday

Pulpit Rock - The Rock Stack of England

Pulpit Rock is coastal feature near the southern tip of the Isle of Portland, Dorset, England. The artificial stack of rock was left in the 1870s after a natural arch was cut away by quarrymen. Many of the historic buildings in London are built with Portland stone.

Portland Bill - With three lighthouses and the best cream teas in England the Bill is a must, but don't just do the tourist thing and just see the lighthouse and Pulpit Rock. Take a walk to the east past the huts to see the caves in the cliffs, they are huge caverns once used for smuggling on dark nights.

The ancient Egyptians mummified animals

Thursday

The ancient Egyptians mummified animals as well as humans. Animals of all kinds were important to the Ancient Egyptians, and featured in the daily secular and religious lives of farmers, craftsmen, priests and rulers. Animals were reared mainly for food, whilst others were kept as pets. The bodies of sacred animals and some pets were often mummified and given elaborate burials.

Baboon harbors a secret that helps identify it as a pet: An x-ray revealed missing canine teeth, probably removed to keep the creature from nipping royal fingers.
A queen’s pet gazelle was readied for eternity with the same lavish care as a member of the royal family. In fine, blue-trimmed bandages and a custom-made wooden coffin, it accompanied its owner to the grave in about 945 B.C. Egyptian Museum, Cairo.
Lovingly preserved, a hunting dog whose bandages fell off long ago likely belonged to a pharaoh. As a royal pet, it “would have been fed nibbly bits and spoiled rotten,” says Salima Ikram. When it died, it was interred in a specially prepared tomb in the Valley of the Kings.
A raptor with an appliquéd face holds only a few bones.
Votive mummies, each buried with a prayer, are infinitely varied but not always what they seem. A cunning crocodile is a fake—it has nothing inside.

Outstanding Natural Beauty

Saturday

These are probably the most beautiful natural landscapes I’ve ever seen in my life. This is how I imagine paradise :) This beauty is situated in Croatia and is called the Plitvice Lakes. In 1949 the lakes were nationalized by the government and turned into a national park. The park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.

The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colours, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue.By the way, the park is one of the few places on the planet, where new waterfalls appear every year.

Dancing Forest in Kaliningrad

When you come in forest all you can see is straight trees, a lot of them, some plants and similar. Well, from a place to place you can find some irregular shaped tree but you know that’s fine. If you came to Dancing Forest in Kaliningrad, better prepare yourself to experience horror-like atmosphere.

That’s right, those trees are so regularly irregular so you would be scared when you see such thing. They are all curved in knots and strange loops so the forest got name Dancing Forest. If you want to visit this forest you can find it on the Curonian Spit near Kaliningrad.
